For thirty years, UHL has welcomed students
                                                                                      from diverse national and denominational
                                                                                      backgrounds. Founded by Christian scholars
                                                                                      living in Jerusalem, the school offers short-
                                                                                      and long-term courses best studied in Israel.
                                                                                      UHL faculty and students have played an
                                                                                      important role in special projects such as
                                                                                      the publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the
                                                                                      excavation and development of the Nazareth
                                                                                      Village Farm, and most recently, aiding in
                                                                                      the birth of the Museum of the Bible. UHL
                                                                                      seeks to use scientific expertise in support of
                                                                                      sound Biblical exegesis, at times combatting
                                                                                      popular skepticism and fraudulent historical
                                                                                      claims (e.g., in the case of the Talpiot Tomb).

                                                                                      The Dead Sea Scrolls

                                                                                      Dr. Stephen Pfann, founder and president of
                                                                                      the University of the Holy Land, is a member
                                                                                      of the international team of editors of the
                                                                                      Dead Sea Scrolls. He has published Biblical
                                                                                      and non-Biblical Dead Sea scrolls, including
                                                                                      those written in cryptic (or esoteric) scripts
                                                                                      and is an expert in scroll reconstruction and
                                                                                      in the use of cutting-edge techniques such
                                                                                      as RTI imaging and hair follicle analysis.
