From Father Juan Maria Solana’s beginnings in Puebla, Mexico to his
current work in Jerusalem and the Galilee, his life has been marked
by divine providence and personal obedience. I had the privilege to
meet with Father Solana, where we discussed his call to ministry,
appointment in Jerusalem and mission in Magdala.

How would you describe your call to the ministry?
I come from a Catholic family and am the youngest of 13 siblings. This
vocation, as I see it, is a call of God. Whether you come from a Catholic
or secular background, when God calls you, that’s it. For me, it was a
tremendously clear calling.
